Is Jessica Simpson's career built on controversy?
She is always making quotes that are off center. She is either moron or the smartest woman in the world to keep her career going without making a good song in years. She has only had one Number 1 album and obviously people weren't feeling it after listening to it, because her label dropped her shortly after the concert tour.
I wish her success. Cause faking being a "dumb blond" must be the hardest job in the world.

Allegedly "Paris Hilton" plays the dumb blonde thing too and isn't really her media presentation.

I'm a natural blonde, from California, with the name a very perky 1980's name. I ain't dumb, perhaps being fat helps work against the type.
Jessica Simpson was considerably sheltered growing up and was rewarded for saying very dumb things on TV, so either she has kept doing it out of guile or she has never learned to question the cutenss of acting dumb. I think the latter rather than the former. Same thing for Paris Hilton, though her rewards were met out for meanness and shallowness.
Both are destructive stereotypes to be "performed" or rewarded/reinforced by the media/entertainment industry because they undermine the perception of young, blonde women. Although, the entree of Spencer Pratt has also help undermine the ability of young, blonde men to be taken seriously. So, more equality in vapid, stupidity? Ugh
